August Burns Red é uma banda de Metalcore de Lancaster, Pensilvânia/EUA.A banda foi formada em 2003, enquanto os membros ainda estavam no ensino médio. O nome da banda é derivado de um incidente no que respeita á relação e a repartição de um ex-membro e sua namorada. Com Jake Luhrs(vocal), JB Brubaker(guitarra), Brent Rambler(guitarra), Dustin Davidson(contra-baixo e vocal), Matt Greiner(bateria).Embora as músicas de August Burns Red sejam frequentemente definidas como Metalcore Cristão, JB Brubaker, mencionado na entrevista com um estrondo, em uma revista online, afirmou: "o cristianismo é estilo de vida e não um estilo musical". Disse: " é importante não deixar que a música fale por si. No entanto, Brent Rambler comentou o fato de que " É importante para nós que as pessoas saibam que somos cristãos..."
